What's the average fuel mileage on your RR ?
I ride mine on city streets to work and it gets me 33 mpg. I haven't paid attention to what I get on the highway.

I get between 120 and 175 miles before the light comes on, and it's usually between 30 and 45 mpg. I never put in more than 4 gallons.

Abhijeet,
Consider yourself lucky.
When I had my RR I got about 26 - 28 mpg.
My riding is almost all city riding in Tokyo traffic.
I get 38 - 40 on my 1700cc aircooled MT-01. I suppose the problem with the BMW is the simpler version of fuel injection. I loved the bike anyway.

45mpg highway, riding reasonably
32mpg beating the hell out of it, or a lot of in town work
Light comes on at about the same as about...120-170 miles.

Good morning Abhijeet,
The riding we did on Sunday (mostly speed limit highway) gave me just about 45 mpg. I could see, by the way you were setting yourself up for curves*, that you tend to be a spirited rider. The mileage you recorded sounds about right for brisk city riding.
We need to do this again,:)

This is one of those - 'all depends on' question and answers. Riding style, screen type, weight etc...
I have a twin spark with the .69, 6th gear with 15K miles on it. I regularly get 46-48 cruising in the 60-80mph range. At altitude, 5000 plus, last year in Utah, with some sections in the 100mph plus - 56mpg. Yellow light came on a 204miles there. Usually 160miles -if fast riding, 180 regular riding before the light comes on. I am considered by most to be a 'fast' rider.
Last WE on the Hill Country ride - going there 48. Saturday morning 'hooligan' ride, the somewhat spirited one with the fast group regularly hitting the rev limiter - 38mpg. Saturday Pm with more sedate riders -51. I consider the upper 40's to be normal.

I am getting around 17km to the litre on my 2005 RR (10,000km on the clock)on reasonably fast longer rides. Excuse my ignorance but what would this equate to in MPG ? Acacia I'm sure that you're used to doing the conversion ?!

Abhijeet,
I consistently get 24 to 26 in urban assault riding. Lotsa stop and go, meaning a lot of accelleration from a stop, not good for mileage.
On the highway, fully loaded side cases and a huge cross seat bag, lotsa crosswinds and headwinds, between 45 and 47.
On the highway, lightly loaded side cases, no crosswinds, steady 70-75 with brief bursts up to 85 or so...averaged 56.
It all depends on conditions. If accellerating, um, briskly away from a stop didn't feel so good, I'd probably get better mileage in town...

Most of my rides are on the highway with very little street riding as in commuting type. The other street riding is canyon riding so it's more like highway riding. I average around 33-MPG.

Thanks all for your comments. For a moment, I thought it was just my bike that was a gas hog.
Frank,
Yes. We should ride together again soon. I do flog the bike a bit and take the curves a little aggressively while shifting the weight to decrease the lean angle as well. What can I say? I read a lot and practice what I learn. :D

DJ,
It looks like you are letting your hair grow a bit longer these days. Perhaps it's just the angle.

I agree entirely with Brian. I've got almost 30K on my '04 R and it's never been below 38mpg - in heavy traffic usually around 42-44mpg.
