Tom services my bike and custom fabricates a number of things for BMW's (mainly GS) I have his header bolt light mounts and he just recently installed a Stevel Nautilus Compact Air Horn (http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=STEBEL_COMPACT_AIRHORN&Category_Code=Stebel_Air_Horns) with his custom Installation kit (http://www.adventurersworkshop.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=EXCEL_HORN_KIT_R1150GS&Category_Code=Stebel_Air_Horns) on the 1150r. The GS installation kit fit the 1150r, Tom says I'm the first 1150r he knows of that has this installed so he was very pleased. He has a revised mounting bracket in the works and he's going to fit that on for me at no charge so that he can confirm its fitment as well.

Tom is a great guy and everything he does is top notch. He isn't real big on the internet, but if you have any questions or comments I may be able to pass them along. And if you're in the area and need tires mounted or some work done, there's no one better than Tom.

? I'm not sure what you're reffering to, the new horn mounts where the stock horn is located

I high pitched truck horn. Somewhat European in tone. Very, Very loud. I can not stand within 20 feet of the horn when it goes off without ear pain. It helps wake up the soccer mom who's talking on the cell phone while putting on make up and getting ready to change lanes right on top of you. :eusa_clap:

Thanks....I hate the sound of my little toot-toot.

That horn looked too big to mount were the stock horn is...I don't have ABS..so there's this big empty space under the tank (the size if a house brick)...and...it's such a waste of space...and a good spot to mount a horn.

I see, I totally misread your first post (I hadn't gotten my caffiene yet I guess)

I have seen nice installs in the ABS location, but the stock location mounting fits (barely) and I'm not sure how much the horn would be "muffled" under the tank.

I've got his installation kit and the Stebel on my GS. Very effective when the Soccer mom with a cell phone in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other starts to invade your lane. From the look on her face, McDonald's coffee is indeed very hot....
